The Mid-West Fastener Association (MWFA), one of the oldest fastener associations in the U.S., recently held its annual scholarship dinner meeting, which recognizes annual scholarship recipients.
To date, the MWFA has awarded $768,500 in scholarships to its members, their children, and spouses. Awarding these scholarships is done through the generosity of member and industry donations, as well as proceeds from its annual Fastener Show.
This year, Brighton-Best International (BBI) — a master fastener distributor — was proud to have two members of its team honored: Madison Hunt and Joshua Church.

Scholarship recipient, Joshua Church.
The $2,500 SWD Inc. scholarship went to Madison Hunt, daughter of Tina and George Hunt III, a regional sales manager with BBI. Madison is a high-school senior planning to pursue her degree in registered nursing. She looks forward to giving back to her community. She wants to become someone who makes people feel comfortable and who makes a difference.
The $4,000 Brighton-Best International scholarship went to Joshua Church, grandson of Barbara Newman, an account manager with BBI. Joshua is a high-school senior planning to pursue nursing in college. He says that a recent surgical experience helped him realize that he wanted to be a nurse who keeps patients calm and knowledgeable.
