Mouser Electronics, Inc. is now supplying the new Texas Instruments Tiva™ C Series Connected LaunchPad and Evaluation Kit. This new evaluation kit supports the Texas Instruments Tiva C Series of microcontrollers based on the ARM Cortex‑M4F with floating point unit. The new Tiva C Series LaunchPad targets projects that require a high level of connectivity including Internet of Things (IoT) applications and cloud‑enabled systems.
The new Texas Instruments EK-TM4C1294XL Tiva C Series Connected LaunchPad available from Mouser Electronics is a new evaluation kit in TI’s LaunchPad series. It boasts a Texas Instruments TM4C1294NC 120MHz 32-bit microcontroller with 1MByte Flash, 256KBytes SRAM and 6KBytes of EEPROM. The Tiva C Series is part of Texas Instruments’ connected series of microcontrollers which supports a wide range of serial communications interfaces.
The Tiva C Series LaunchPad allows designers to evaluate the many connectivity features of the powerful Texas Instruments TM4C1294NC microcontroller, which includes two CAN 2.0B interfaces, a 10/100 Ethernet MAC with PHY, and USB 2.0 OTG. Additional serial communications ports include eight UARTS, four Synchronous Serial Interfaces (SSI), and ten high speed I2C ports. The microcontroller’s onboard Tamper Module enhances system security by providing a hardware mechanism to detect, respond to, and log system tampering events.
On the LaunchPad, two stackable BoosterPack XL connectors allow the LaunchPad board to extend its functionality by adding BoosterPacks, modular plug-in boards that add additional features to the LaunchPad board. Available BoosterPacks include modules for NFC and RFID, LCD displays, ZigBee wireless communications, and 802.11 WiFi connectivity. In addition, an I/O connector allows access to all peripherals of the TM4C1294NC and connects easily to external circuitry and breadboards. The Tiva C LaunchPad board has wake up and reset buttons, and a power indicator LED. Two user programmable buttons and four user‑programmable LEDs are also available.
