CONVERGENT CV4000 Laser From Prima Electro

The CONVERGENT CV4000 CO2 Laser from Prima Electro features a high quality beam optimized for precise, high speed cutting of thin and thick metals and non-metals. Its DC-excited, fast axial flow design features industry leading electrical efficiency for minimizing operating costs.

The CV4000’s beam features cut width independent of cutting direction. The energy distribution within the beam is ideal for minimizing heat input to the workpiece in a wide range of thicknesses, from thin gauge sheet and tubing to plate and pipe.

The CONVERGENT CV4000 laser cuts thick to thin material including mild steel, stainless
steel, aluminum and other metals and non-metals, with consistently clean edges (Top left and right) Applications also include laser welding and cladding (bottom left) of small to very large components. The CV4000 features industry leading electrical energy efficiency
while its compact design minimizes floor space.

The CV4000 has the following typical cutting capability: mild steel up to 22 mm thick, stainless steel up to 12 mm thick and aluminum up to 10 mm thick (using 10 inch focal length lens). The laser has superior capabilities for cutting other materials including high performance plastics, composites, ceramics, etc.

The DC excited, fast axial flow design provides output from 200 to 4,000 watts average power and has advantages over other 4 kW CO2 lasers for cutting and welding operations. These include: a 20 percent and higher advantage using less electrical power and a 50 percent and better advantage using less laser gas. The CV4000’s magnetic bearing turbine features an 80,000 hour maintenance interval.

The Convergent CV4000 CO2 laser is housed in a single, compact cabinet providing easy integration with laser machines. The compact design avoids the need for additional cabling with other lasers’ resonators and power supply. Cabinet dimensions are: 855 mm wide x 883 mm high x 3105 long.

Over 5,000 CONVERGENT CO2 introduction over three decades ago, reports Terry VanderWert, president of Prima Electro
North America. That includes over 1,300 of the current design with the very latest model, the CV4000, used for a wide range of cutting applications. This vast customer base proves the long term quality and reliability of the CONVERGENT laser designs and their successful application lasers have been installed worldwide since their in many important industries across the world.
