Computer Power Supply (CPS) announced a -30kV Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) Power Supply, Model 3603. Within this compact 25 x 12 x 20 cm enclosure are three common power supplies used by scanning electron microscopes and inspection systems.
The filament and Wehnelt voltages are floating on the accelerator voltage. The Wehnelt voltage is derived from the floating precision bias supply. All three are remotely programmable via an RS-232 or USB data port and connected to a SEM through a conventional 3-pin Federal connector. A plug-in terminal block connects 24VDC input power, an external safety interlock and a HV On status bit.
The Model 3603 has two status lights, which show serial communication activity and a heartbeat lamp that indicates the Model 3603’s processor is active.
CPS provides a C-language demo program, which allows controlling all supplies and reports communication activity. It displays the set point of each supply, the actual measured outputs and an internal temperature sensor.
