The CTIA’s Wireless Internet Caucus today released its finished document for interoperability of multimedia messaging and said all major U.S. carriers are in agreement.
The document, “Final Set of Use Cases and Call Flows,” explains how to achieve group messaging and presence updates. It was developed by the Enhanced Messaging Action Team, one of eight groups within the caucus.
Technical details are posted on the team’s Website.
Carriers are expected to launch the new interoperability beginning in the third quarter of 2009, officials said. The document process began in June, when carriers filed comments in response to an official request for information.
