Germany-based MEMS sensor developer Bosch Sensortec launched a 9-axis motion sensor today that can easily be matched with a variety of applications.
The BMF005 works well for those creating progressive sensor fusion algorithms for advanced applications. More specifically, the sensor is a natural fit for applications within the drone, navigation systems, remote control, and robotics industries. It is also works well with human interface devices related to IoT. The sensor is ideal for those applications because it provides a system-in-package solution, according to Bosch Senortec CEO and GM Dr. Stefan Finkbeiner.
“By providing a comprehensive software development package, we are enabling our customers to create highly-customized sensor systems that meet their exact application requirements,” he said.
A stocked BSX Lite fusion library with integration guidelines is included in the package, as well as API source files which can be used individual sensors. The creation application-specific firmware for the sensor doesn’t require any additional software.
Only 5.2 x 3.8 x 1.1 mm3, the sensor includes an accelerometer and a gyroscope. It also boasts a magnetometer featuring a Cortex M0+ processor from Atmel, which can be downloaded from the company’s website.
