Pepperl+Fuchs NRB/NRN series inductive proximity sensors detect all metals at the same operating distance. Adjusting an air-core coil system ensures that target detection is independent of the metal characteristics. This provides large operating distances and makes the sensors insensitive to interference from frequency converters or strong magnetic fields created in welding operations.
The sensors are available in two form factors. Cylindrical sensor models are offered in diameters from 6.5 mm to 30 mm with operating distances of 1.5 mm up to 25 mm. Cube-style sensors are available with dimensions of 40 mm x 40 mm or 80 mm x 80 mm with operating distances ranging from 15 mm to 50 mm.
