The hand tools series introduces several new design features into compact, highly portable measuring and layout tools to help improve worksite efficiency.
The DEWALT ATOMIC COMPACT SERIES hand tools are designed to deliver improved ergonomics and optimum size and power to professionals on the job.
The first lineup of hand tools to join the ATOMIC COMPACT SERIES portfolio include tape measures, a chalk reel, and a pocket laser measurer.

(DWHT38130S) lengths, allow users to efficiently measure solo with 13-Ft. max reach. With a 20% more compact grip, users benefit from improved ergonomics and control while DEWALT’s first-ever integrated finger brake helps provide a controlled blade retraction to reduce hook damage. The tapes display fractional blade graphics for quick measurements and a durable blade coating that delivers long blade life.
The ATOMIC COMPACT SERIES™ Chalk Reel (DWHT47258L) is 40% more compact for convenient storage in tool bags, boxes and belts, and is engineered to withstand tough applications through a sealed gear system that helps protect against contamination and debris. A 3:1 gear ratio delivers a 3X faster rewind†after the chalk is marked while the built-in clutch system helps reduce line jams and delivers smooth releases, contributing to quick, efficient job-site marking.
The chalk reel is ideal for tradespeople in framing, roofing, deck building, parking lot layout, drywall, flooring installation and bricklaying and is available now.
With its slim and compact design, the ATOMIC COMPACT SERIES 55 ft. Pocket Laser Distance Measurer (DW055PL) fits in most pockets to travel with users anywhere on the job. Equipped with a rechargeable battery through USB charging, the backlit LCD screen clearly displays measurements as taken, while one-button operation allows users to quickly change between units of measure.
