hannover messe usaA new Digital Factory special display area focused on integrated processes and IT solutions for plant operations will debut at Hannover Messe USA 2018. As part of the Integrated Automation, Motion & Drives USA (IAMD USA) trade show within Hannover Messe USA, Digital Factory will showcase Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) solutions that optimize plant processes and accelerate the development of new products to conserve manufacturers’ resources and lower their production costs. Digital Factory will feature software and wireless technology innovations, digital twin, production monitoring and control systems, IT security and more solutions for the entire production process. The specialty area brings together a high concentration of industrial technology market leaders on Level Two of the East Building in McCormick Place co-located with IMTS 2018.

“We are excited to launch Digital Factory at IAMD in the U.S.,” said Adrienne Zepeda, show manager of Industrial Events at Hannover Fairs USA. “The world’s top industrial technology and digitization innovators will demonstrate IT-optimized smart manufacturing and IIoT solutions, offering attendees what they need to implement smart, transportable data and connections on and off the plant floor,” added Zepeda.

For the first time on the show floor, Digital Factory at IAMD will display Enterprise Resource Planning ERP, Supply Chain Management, Process Integration, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Visualization, Manufacturing Execution Systems MES and Virtual Commissioning, Offline Programming and Set-up and other IIoT solutions all in one area. Leading technology providers in the space include SAP, Infor and FORCAM to name a few.

On the show floor, SAP will take attendees through the life cycle of a digital twin, from the initial CAD drawing and virtual prototype to its role in operational systems. The company will also demonstrate how SAP technology, including digital supply chain solutions and SAP Leonardo, enables the network of digital twins. This allows intelligent enterprises to bring digital representations of multiple products, equipment and assets together into one technical and business context.

“SAP is committed to helping our customers thrive in Industry 4.0, where manufacturers are challenged to achieve the paradox of delivering individualized products at scale,” said Georg Kube, Industrial Machinery and Components industry lead at SAP. “By combining data from physical and digital equipment with business processes and market insights, manufacturers can implement modular production, reduce equipment downtime, and boost customer satisfaction and retention.”

Infor will showcase its CloudSuite solutions at Hannover Messe USA. Infor CloudSuite offers real-time insight and analytics into plant operations from the floor to the finance department, providing manufacturers with tools and information to help them make quick, strategic decisions as their business grows and changes.

“Infor is dedicated to creating technology solutions that can help transform the way in which businesses operate to increase agility, reduce downtime and be responsive to customers’ needs. Our CloudSuite solutions are designed not only to help organizations become more productive today, but we aim to provide long term, scalable solutions that can provide them with confidence in their continued ability to deliver as demands change, ” said Jeff Nedwick, Infor Automotive Product and Solution Strategy director.

Infor has partnered with IIoT specialist FORCAM to deliver smart manufacturing solutions that can help extend agility and reduce downtime by connecting the top floor to the plant floor.

FORCAM will demonstrate the importance of connectivity, interoperability, and mobility in smart manufacturing. “Since FORCAM first exhibited at the inaugural industrial technology show co-located with IMTS 2012, we have seen IIoT emerge from a concept to a dynamic force for change in manufacturing,” said Sandy Abraham, head of Global Marketing and Brand Management at FORCAM.

The company will demonstrate its award-winning FORCAM Force IIoT solution in the Digital Factory area. FORCAM FORCE™ is built on an Open API structure, connecting to any third-party system such as ERP, MES, TDM, QMS and CMMS. “FORCAM FORCE™ turns all of a plant’s data into smart data,” added Abraham.

FORCAM will demonstrate several success stories of collaborations with industry partners that also are exhibiting in the Digital Factory area. For example, FORCAM and Infor will be showcasing their collaboration on Infor MES – Powered by FORCAM, an IIOT solution that provides real-time insight and analytics into plant operations by integrating shop floor machine data with top floor ERP data increases.
