The NTS line of 500-W digitally controlled power supplies now includes NTS505 and NTS508 Series models. Intended primarily as medium power front-end units for distributed power systems, NTS500 Series ac-dc power supplies offer power density in a compact, 4 x 7-in. footprint.
These power supplies are suitable for use in information technology equipment and light industrial systems. They are also available with medical approvals (NTS500-M Series) for applications such as patient monitoring systems and portable medical equipment. The NTS505 and NTS508 power supplies generate a tightly regulated 24 V and 48 V output, respectively, that can be used to directly power boards fitted with multiple nonisolated dc-dc converters. The convection-cooled models have an output of 200 W and a height of just 1.5 in., making them ideal for 1U (1.75 in. high) rack-mount chassis and other low-profile applications, while the fan-cooled versions can deliver their full rated output of 500 W up to 50‚° C with 30 cfm forced air. Both versions accommodate a flexible ambient operating temperature range of 0‚° to 70‚° C to ensure reliability for a wide range of demanding applications.
