Direct Wire & Cable Inc. is marking its 40th anniversary in the wire and cable manufacturing business.
“The past 40 years have been an exciting ride for the Direct family. Seeing Direct’s growth into new markets and industries also has been very rewarding,” says founder and CEO Richard Witwer. The company started as a small shop in Richard’s garage, selling cable to welding distributors.
Direct has come a long way since then, growing into the nation’s leading producer of welding cable and adding a world-class manufacturing facility to expand its product and distribution capabilities about five years ago. Direct’s continuing commitment to serve the cable industry will be the focus of Direct’s 2018 investments in building and new equipment.
As David Witwer, the President of Direct Manufacturing observed: “In 2018, Direct’s manufacturing capabilities will continue to grow. Our building expansion and new equipment coming on line will enable us to add new products to meet the needs of our growing customer base. Greg Testa, Direct’s Vice President of Sales, will lead the Direct Manufacturing effort to bring these new products – targeted primarily for Direct’s industrial and original equipment manufacturing (OEM) customers.”
