Dunkermotoren continues to expand their portfolio of brushless DC Servo motors. A relative of the well established BG series, Dunkermotoren introduced their new, compact BG 32 servo motor, a 32 mm diameter motor with output power ranging from 10 to 20 Watts. Dunkermotoren has carefully matched the BG32 to various control electronics, encoders, brakes and gearboxes. The result, components are perfectly matched ensuring optimal performance.
The BG32 flat speed-torque curve is accomplished through an outstanding power to volume ratio resulting in a considerable nominal torque range of 2.6 to 4.5 Ncm (at a nominal speed of 3500 rpm). Standard motor commutation is via integrated hall sensors. High resolution encoders and Integrated or external electronics are also available. The new KI version is a two-wire solution with integrated control electronics and functions for short-circuit braking and CW/CCW operation.
For applications where only speed control is required, the BGE 3004A, a cost-optimised 1-quadrant controller, is also available. For more complex control requirements Dunkermotoren offers the BGE 3508, a 4 quadrant positioning control with an integrated power stage and interfaces for stand-alone operation. With digital or analogue input/output control, the electronics and can be operated in a master/slave CANopen network with device profile DSP 402, protocol DS 301.
Protective functions: Low-voltage, high temperature and locked-rotor protection ensure high operational safety.
PLG series planetary gearboxes have also been optimally designed for the BG 32. The PLG 32 H (helical design) ensures exceptional low noise emission. Single to three stage gearboxes with ratios ranging form 4.5:1 to 575:1 are all sealed with lifetime lubrication ensuring maintenance-free operation. Dual ball bearing and O-ring design supports high radial and axial loads. Gearboxes are protected against contaminants according to IP52.
High-resolution encoders and brakes complete the modular system. For applications requiring a high degree of control or positioning, motors can be equipped with digital encoders. Power-off brake (type E 38), with a braking torque of 20 Ncm can also be attached to the BG 32.
Dunkermotoren designed these universal motors (and modular components) for a wide range of applications including medical, semiconductor, packaging and general automation.
