Edmund Optics Unveils TECHSPEC® Compact Ruggedized (Cr) Series Fixed Focal Length Lenses

Edmund Optics® (EO), a provider of optical components, announces the new TECHSPEC® Compact Ruggedized (Cr) Series Fixed Focal Length Lenses. These Stability Ruggedized versions of our popular TECHSPEC® C Series Fixed Focal Length Lenses are designed to maintain optical pointing and positioning in harsh environments that involve vibration, shock, and changing temperatures. The individual lens elements are glued in place inside the barrel to prevent lens element decenter during shock and vibration. Pixel shift is reduced, thereby eliminating object shift on the image and ensuring that the object to image mapping remains constant. A point on the object will always map to the same point on the image even after the lens has been heavily vibrated or shocked.

TECHSPEC® Cr Series Fixed Focal Length Lenses offer a simplified focus with a wide range of aperture options. Available in four focal lengths from 6mm to 25mm, these Stability Ruggedized C-mount lenses feature robust mechanics and a stainless steel locking C-mount clamp. TECHSPEC® Cr Series lenses are ideal for calibrated imaging systems such as measurement, gauging, 3D stereo vision, robotics, sensing, and autonomous vehicles.

“Today, more and more applications require Stability Ruggedization. This is driven not only by demands for higher levels of measurement accuracy, but also by recent changes in sensor technology – pixels are reducing drastically in size to approach 1 micron – which significantly reduces the tolerance for misalignment of the system optics,” says Greg Hollows, Imaging Business Unit Director at Edmund Optics. “The Cr Series of ruggedized lenses maintain their optical performance in these challenging conditions while delivering the exceptional quality that the industry has come to expect from every Edmund Optics lens.”

TECHSPEC® Cr Series Fixed Focal Length Lenses are in-stock and available for immediate delivery for fast turnaround and excellent value. For more information, visit https://www.edmundoptics.com/imaging-lenses/techspec-lenses/cr-series-fixed-focal-length-lenses/.
