General Dynamics Electric Boat has been awarded a maximum $101 million contract modification for tactical missile tubes in support of the Ohio-class submarine replacement program.
The cost-plus-fixed-fee modification covers the manufacturing of 22 tactical missile tubes for the next-generation submarine set to replace Ohio-class ballistic missile submarines.
The tubes will support the manufacture of the common missile compartment for the replacement program.
Work will be performed in Rhode Island and is expected to be completed by December 2024.
Naval Sea Systems Command is the contracting entity.
The General Dynamics subsidiary is overseeing the program to provide 12 replacement submarines to replace the 14 Ohio-class vessels in today’s fleet. The new class will be named Columbia, in honor of the U.S. capital.
