Emerson Bearing Boston offers custom parts development

Emerson Bearing Boston, a bearing company catering to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) and Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO) markets around the world, offers a solution to those looking to replace hard-to-find bearings and related parts for older machines.

The company provides custom parts development and engineering assistance to maintenance, repair and operations clients seeking replacement bearings and related parts that are difficult to source or no longer available. The company’s team works with its line of partners from around the globe to source required parts, or for parts that are no longer mass-produced, the team analyzes the old part and develops specification plans that can then be sent out for custom work.

Case in Point

For example, Emerson assisted an elevator repair company working on a 100 year-old elevator requiring replacement roller chain and sprocket. Although the parts were just as old as the elevator, the Emerson team was able to analyze the roller chain and sprocket (that was provided by the customer) and work with their partners to identify a supplier of the chain. Since the sprocket was no longer mass-produced, the Emerson team was able to reverse-engineer specifications from the old sprocket for plans so custom work could be completed.

When bearings fail to work properly, all related processes have to shut down,” explained Steve Katz, president of Emerson Bearing. “We strive to improve machinery life, and when certain bearings or parts are no longer being mass produced, we’re able to provide engineering assistance and custom parts development to ensure our customer has the right part to keep their equipment rolling for years to come.”
