Enerpac unveils SBL Series and Strand Jack Gantries

By Stacy Combest | August 16, 2012

Enerpac’s heavy duty SBL series of hydraulic gantry system offers a capacity of up to 1100 tons, along with the strand jack gantries.

Hydraulic gantries provide a safe and efficient solution for lifting and positioning heavy loads in applications where permanent overhead structures for job cranes and traditional cranes cannot be used.

SBL series hydraulic gantry system

With a lifting height of almost 13 meters when erected and extended, the heavy duty SBL 1100 series features a unique drive system which comprises a powered tank-roller system that can effectively reduce ground load by up to 70 percent. The gantry’s boom is pinned and can be easily folded to minimize transport dimension. It also comes with a mechanical system that has the capability to lock the boom in virtually any position while taking the full load. The gantry’s standard intellilift wireless control system also offers an automatic synchronization function as well as (over) load control function.

Meanwhile, the company’s strand jack gantries deliver a lifting capacity of up to 500 metric tons, enabling loads to be skidded inside a building and later on dropped and installed on the spot.

The flexible and modular design of the gantry has been specifically engineered to allow it to be used in almost any building scenario, including installation of generators, boiler drums and turbines. The gantry is generally used to load and unload heavy transport machinery such as self-propelled modular units.

Constructed from segments of one meter each, the gantry’s lower columns are fitted with a hydraulic driven spindle, enabling the skid beams on top of the columns to align with the beams within the building.
