Drones maintaining the city
It’s a big job to keep up with the demands of maintaining a city’s worth of infrastructure, but luckily we have the drones on our side. Earlier this year, the University of Leeds received over six million dollars in funding to develop small drones that are capable of patrolling city streets in lieu of government workers.
US Military Tests $40k ‘Bug’ Camera Drone
The PD-100 Black Hornet 2 is a high-tech camera drone that’s currently being tested by the US military. This little drone is designed to be extremely stealthy. In fact, it’s so small it actually fits in the palm of your hand. The drone weighs just 18 grams, and costs a mere $40,000 each.
Drones to the rescue
The word drone is often used in negative connections with uninformed pilots flying their UAV where they aren’t supposed to or spying on the neighbors, but there are quite a few situations in which drones can be extremely beneficial.
