Ericsson and Nokia Siemens Networks have been tapped to build out TeliaSonera’s LTE network across Norway and Sweden. Huawei will continue to build TeliaSonera’s 4G network in Oslo, Norway, as part of a previously announced deal.
The news is particularly victorious for Ericsson, who recently lost out on two major contracts when Tele2 and Telenor chose Huawei to supply 4G network equipment in Sweden, Ericsson’s home country.
Ericsson will supply the LTE common core network. Both Ericsson and Nokia Siemens Networks will supply base stations.
