Exlar Announces Second Year for Engineering Scholarship Program

Exlar Corporation recently awarded $1,000 scholarships to four distinguished local area high school graduates planning to pursue engineering degrees. The recipients include: Jacob Anderson of Chanhassen who will be attending the University of Wisconsin-Madison; Kevin Knapp of Minnetonka who will be attending the University of Wisconsin-Madison; Monica Lasley of Eden Prairie who will be attending Purdue University; and Timothy Zalusky of Chanhassen who will be attending the University of Minnesota. This was the second year of the Exlar Scholarship Program.

Exlar’s CTO, Bill Zerull, stated, “With continued demands on technology for higher levels of productivity, safety and energy efficiency, having the engineering skills to design, develop and integrate these technologies is critical for both manufacturers and the individuals coming into the workforce. By making these scholarships available, we see it as an investment for the future of the company, the community and the country.”

Kim Hidy, Director of Human Resources, added, “The quality of all the candidates this year made selecting just four a difficult task, especially in light of the 60 percent increase in the number of candidates over last year’s program. Exlar wishes this year’s recipients continued academic and extracurricular success as they begin their engineering degree programs.”
