The non-halogenated EP90FR series of products from Master Bond set a new standard of flame retardancy, meeting FAR 14 CFR 25.853(a) specifications for both vertical and horizontal burn tests.

This strict industry certification is often required for specialty aerospace applications such as interior panels, door frame lining, floor and door assemblies, etc.

The series includes:

EP90FR-V – a two-part epoxy passes vertical burn test portion of FAR standard 14 CFR 25.853(a) for flame retardancy. Passes Boeing standard BSS 7238, Revision C for low smoke and BSS 7239, Revision A for toxicity. This epoxy bonds well to a variety of substrates. Features include a one-to-one mix ratio by weight, moderate viscosity, excellent electrical insulator, and a non-halogenated system. Serviceable from -60° to +250° F.

EP90FR-H – a two-component, high-strength, flame-retardant epoxy system that fully meets the stringent horizontal burn test portion of the FAR standard 14 CFR 25.853(a). It’s a non-halogenated system, allowing a forgiving one-to-one mix ratio by weight. EP90FR-H has good electrical insulation and is serviceable from -60° to +250° F with low shrinkage.

EP90FR-HFL – a toughened epoxy system that complies with the FAR standard 14CFR 25.853(a) for flame retardancy. This compound offers bonding, sealing, coating, and potting, passing all horizontal burn test specifications and is a safe electrical insulator. It also withstands mechanical shock and vibration, is thermal cycling resistant, and a non-halogenated-type system. EP90FR-HFL bonds well to dissimilar substrates. It’s serviceable from -60° to +250° F.
