Fatigue Workspace to be Part of SimXpert

MSC.Software Corp. announced a SimEnterprise partnership with nCode International. Through this agreement, nCode will develop a SimXpert Fatigue program for the open SimEnterprise framework, enabling SimXpert users to assess and share key durability information during simulation analysis. In addition, nCode’s technology will be extended to MD Patran to support fast and efficient fatigue assessment in an MD user environment.

”Engineers often need to make durability designs quickly, so having simulation information available in real-time can enhance product quality while reducing analysis cycle time,” said Douglas Peterson, vice president,

SimEnterprise Development, MSC.Software. “Expanding access to fatigue data through SimXpert is the next step towards a simulation process where manufacturers of all sizes can share product design and simulation information as well as leverage best-practices.”

SimXpert simplifies all simulation stages, automates repetitive tasks, and preserves data integrity. It enables faster, more accurate simulation, enabling analysts to complete all stages of the simulation process – from modeling, solving, and pre-post processing to results manipulation and report generation – within an integrated program. One interface eases execution of multiple analyses without the need to go in and out of other applications. The unified suite of SimXpert programs includes: Structures, Motion, Thermal, Crash and Solution Extensions.

“In creating SimXpert Fatigue,” said Brian Dabell, chief executive officer, nCode, “companies will be able to share durability results and information as part of their enterprise simulation.”
MD Patran Fatigue is available now. SimXpert Fatigue will be available in 2007.
