Festo (www.festo.com) has unveiled three corrosion-resistant and hygienically-safe pneumatic drives that cater to a variety of applications aside from food handling — the DGRF, CRDSNU and the DSBF drives.
The guided drive DGRF can handle workpieces under severe environmental conditions, while the round cylinder CRDSNU and the standard cylinder DSBF are fitted with self-adjusting cushioning PPS.
Festo’s self-adjusting cushioning PPS ends the hassle when setting the exact cushioning with pneumatic cylinders. This cushioning system, which is offered as an option in the stainless-steel round cylinder CRDSNU and the Clean Design cylinder DSBF, expedites commissioning and makes it easier.
Moreover, the self-adjusting cushioning PPS makes sure that the cushioning is set-up correctly without the need for manual work on the part of the user, even if parameters such as pressure and friction change.
This also decreases the acceleration forces that act on the machine workpieces and components. It also minimizes time-consuming vibration and diminishes the wear. Additionally, self-adjusting cushioning is less costly and more durable than shock absorbers. PPS also eliminates the need for adjusting screw, making cleaning easier.
Furthermore, the hygienically-safe pneumatic drives’ lubricating grease and sealing materials are approved by the FDA for use with food. The modular sealing system features the right seal for every application — FDA-compliant seals.
The guided drive DGRF’s compact design seamlessly combines torsional rigidity with precision. Corrosion and deposits can easily be removed thanks to its large radii and smooth surfaces.
