• The Disney/ABC Television Group, ESPN and Verizon announced that a portfolio of news, entertainment and sports video programming, including full-length episodes of shows from ABC Entertainment, ABC News and Disney Channel, as well as content from ESPN, will be available to Verizon Wireless V CAST Video and Mobile Web customers. Verizon Wireless customers also will be able to access and view expanded programming from ESPN, including short news clips.
• Flurry now making its analytics available for free to all iPhone, Android, BlackBerry and Java ME developers. Among new features is the ability for developers to track custom user events within games and applications.
• Mobile banking specialist ClairMail appointed Pete Daffem as CEO. Daffern previously was CEO of Purisma. ClairMail founder Joe Salesky will continue as chairman and chief strategy officer.
• Synchronica won a contract in South America with Chilean mobile operator Entel PCS. The agreement, Synchronica’s first win in the region, will enable Entel PCS to launch a mass e-mail solution called Email Movil, a push e-mail and synchronization service. The agreement also represents the first win for Synchronica’s strategic partner, Brightstar. Brightstar was appointed in February 2008 to promote Synchronica Mobile Gateway in high-growth regions such as Latin America.
