Bell Business Markets and IBM announced a new partnership to expand the cloud computing services available through Bell Business Cloud. This partnership will give businesses across Canada access to the IBM Cloud via a secure, high-speed private connection from Bell.
New services include Bell Cloud Connect, Bell Cloud Compute and Backup and Restore.
Bell’s Business Cloud in partnership with IBM is available across the country to all mid and large businesses.

AirHop Communications Inc., a supplier of Self-Organizing Network (SON) solutions for heterogeneous networks (HetNets), announced that it has joined the Open Networking Lab (ON.Lab) as a collaborator and will demonstrate its eSON technology as a key application on Open Network Operating System (ONOS) open source software platform.
AirHop will support the ONOS Mobile Central Office Re-architected as a Datacenter (MCORD) initiative, which provides service providers with a 5G ready network function virtualization (NFV) and software-defined networking (SDN) platform to reduce CapEx and OpEx, improve service deployment agility and end-user Quality of Experiences (QoE).

ThinkingPhones, a global voice, video and collaboration company, announced a series E round of  $112 million led by Summit Partners with follow on investments from current investors Bessemer Venture Partners and Technology Crossover Ventures.
ThinkingPhones also announced it is rebranding as Fuze, the company it acquired in November 2015.

Swisscom has deployed the Oracle Communications Operations Monitor to get a better view of its network performance as it switches its two million customers from fixed line telephony to Voice over IP services.
The Oracle Communications Operations Monitor captures and analyzes all signaling messages and media from the network, providing full, end to end correlation and quality metrics of all calls in real time. It also enables drill down troubleshooting for root cause analysis of any reported problem related to a user, user group, trunk, network device or Internet Protocol (IP) address.
