Ed Sarrat of Cirrus Logic is my guest for this edition of Five Questions. Cirrus Logic just announced its CS5484/80/90 family of analog front end (AFE) ICs which provide very high energy measurement accuracy, offering designers of single and polyphase utility meters and smart energy products a desirable combination of energy calculations, flexibility, performance and cost. We’ll talk about features such as the ICs’ 0.1 percent over 4,000 dynamic range for both active and reactive energy, and their very fast two-second calibration times.
