Flexible, armored test cables

Line of flexible, armored SMA and Type-N test cables from Pasternack Enterprises Inc., Irvine, Calif., is designed to handle harsh industrial environments common in production test systems and antenna ranges.

Pasternack-Armored-Test-CAbles They use stainless steel connector construction, with the SMA designed to operate to 20 GHz and the N connector to 18 GHz. These new RF test cables are available with in-series configurations only. A robust mechanical connector/armoring interface and strain relief boot increases the overall durability and life of the test cable. They are built using PE-P142LL coaxial cable which is triple shielded with an expanded PTFE dielectric, guaranteeing low loss performance.

These new SMA and N-Type armored test cables are manufactured with a flexible, but rugged stainless steel armoring which allows RF signal integrity during test, even when exposed to high traffic production environments. The armored coax used is more flexible than other commonly available armored cables and is specifically intended for continual bending and flexure without causing degradation to the signal.

“Production testing is a harsh environment that demands tough and durable test equipment and reliable measurement capabilities,” explains Gerry Camacho, Vice President of Technical Marketing at Pasternack. “Pasternack’s new armored assemblies provide a low loss, precision cable that will handle continual cycling with abrasion and crush resistance in punishing test conditions.”

They are available in standard and metric lengths.
