Flexible shaft coupling for leadscrew assemblies

Helical-Flexible-for-Leadscrew-appThe Challenge

The customer wished to enhance their line of leadscrew assemblies by being able to offer a flexible coupling. This flexible coupling would allow the customer to present a more complete package with their product. They envisioned using our standard flexible coupling AC075 with a 10-32 threaded bore.

The Solution

As you can see, it developed into a final configuration of 1.00″ OD, 1.28″ long, integral clamps (10-32 thread in the A2 bore, wrench flats were placed on this end as well). Also, to blend the flexible coupling into their system they had asked that it have a black anodized finish. The development time was a mere three months from first contact to first order. This is the case that occurs many times – The customer wants a standard coupling except for . . . “threaded bore; O.D. change; wrench flats”. . . otherwise, it’s a standard coupling.
