Fritz Technologies Uses LynxSecure to Develop Assured Sharing Platform Services

By atesmeh | August 19, 2011

SAN DIEGO, CA, NDIA Navy Gold Coast Conference?August 19, 2011?Fritz Technologies Corporation has completed work for the Department of Defense (DoD) and U.S. intelligence community to develop a trusted computing solution using state-of-the-art, commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) LynxSecure software from LynuxWorks, Inc. This Multiple Independent Levels of Security (MILS) solution allows access to unclassified, secret and top secret applications and data to be maintained in separate domains on a single server, or workstation, and supports strictly controlled sharing between those domains.

Fritz designed and delivered the prototype system that demonstrates the consolidation of multiple physical servers supporting different classification levels into a single server (or multiple server farms into a single farm), while maintaining strict separation between security domains.

Bobbi-Michelle Wehrfritz, Fritz Technologies CEO, noted that “Fritz Technologies leveraged its expertise with separation kernels and virtualization to create this high assurance solution. We developed and delivered a prototype platform based on LynxSecure that also takes advantage of the Trusted Platform Module (TPM) in a server environment. We are very excited about what this platform can do for data center and cloud security in both the government and the commercial sectors.”

“This system changes the game for companies who are looking for truly secure multitenancy of applications and data in the cloud,” said Gurjot Singh, CEO, LynuxWorks, Inc. “We are very pleased to have worked with Fritz Technologies on this project and look forward to providing highly secure virtualization-based platforms with them in the future.”

The Assured Sharing Platform Services – Server Separation Development (ASPS-SSD) is designed to provide customers with all of the benefits of virtualization without compromising security by rapidly consolidating existing server farms and making them far more secure. This reduces operational costs while providing the capability to enforce robust separation of security domains for customers who require Grade A secure systems in the cloud.
