Red Lion Controls announced that its Graphite™ series of Human Machine Interface (HMI) operator panels has received Underwriters Laboratories (UL) Functional Safety Listing Mark as well as UL Listed status for Class I, Division 2 in the U.S. and Canada. These listings certify that the Graphite series is safe for use with industrial control equipment in hazardous locations.
Red Lion’s Graphite HMI operator panels and expansion modules are now ANSI/UL 61010-1, ANSI/UL 61010-2-201 and CAN/CSA-C22.2 No. 61010-1 (2012) listed, allowing them to be used in panels which are certified to UL Industrial Control Equipment standards, as well as applications in which explosive dusts, gases and liquids may be present. With these standards, panel and machine builders, as well as customers in the oil and gas, mining and chemical industries can take advantage of Graphite’s rugged, modular I/O and communications architecture.
“UL is one of the most recognized and trusted resources for product safety testing and certification,” explained Jeff Thornton, director of product management at Red Lion Controls. “Earning these UL Listings demonstrates Red Lion’s ongoing commitment to meeting customer safety, testing and certification requirements.”
Red Lion’s Graphite series allows customers to easily connect, monitor and control processes in industries that include manufacturing, oil and gas and water/wastewater. The Graphite series offers a range of plug-in modules that enable customers to easily integrate digital and analog I/O, as well as advanced communications modules to create powerful HMI solutions today, with an option to expand to meet changing business requirements.
Since its launch in July of 2013, Red Lion’s Graphite series has received numerous global accolades, including the “Industrial Control Award” from Plant Engineering China and Automation World’s “Leadership in HMI Hardware” award.
