Hammer Union pressure transducers from Automation Products Group, Inc. (APG) are now ATEX (II 1G Ex ia IIB T4 Ga) and IECEx (EX ia IIB T4 Ga) certified for use in hazardous and explosive areas throughout the world. They are engineered for use with highly abrasive and corrosive media, and are specifically designed to provide long life in harsh oil patch environments in applications such as mud logging, cementing, fracturing, acidizing and measurement while drilling (MWD). APG’s Hammer Union pressure transducers and other sensing solutions will be exhibited at OTC 2013 (Offshore Technology Conference), May 6 – 9, Houston, Texas, in booth 4920.
This extremely rugged pressure transmitter features exceptional shock and vibration resistance (100 g for 11 msec), while providing better than ±0.25% combined linearity, hysteresis and repeatability (BFSL) on pressure ranges up to 20,000 psi. The Hammer Union pressure transducer is available with either 0 to 5 VDC or 4-20 mA output, and features industry standard electrical connectors for simplified installation. A true 20 mA “calibration shunt” is also standard.
With CSA certification for intrinsically safe operation in hazardous locations, the NEMA 4X/IP67 Hammer Union also complies with NACE MR01-75 standards for sour gas pressure applications.
APG has released a video highlighting the development of its Hammer Union pressure transmitters to tackle specific customer needs.
