Have a listen and a look at Wintergatan’s marble machine as it produces hypnotizing music. The Swedish group doesn’t just make music — they made this instrument, too. Musician Martin Molin uses marbles to play instruments on this jumbo music box. The hand-powered machine works by raising steel marbles through the machine into multiple feeder tubes, where they are then released from height via programmable release gates, falling and striking an instrument below. The instruments here include a vibraphone, a bass, a guitar, a cymbal, a kick drum, a snare drum, and a high hat.
