Guided motion is an important feature found in automated machinery and equipment. Motion system components can enable the movement of heavy loads, or allow for equipment to be designed for adjustability and allow for a variety of machine functions or operational tasks. Motion products are engineered for specific conditions such as load direction, load capacity, or chemical compatibility. They are typically designed to carry loads in controlled service conditions which are clean, free of debris and well lubricated. After several months of use, these ideal operating conditions are rarely a reality for production machinery.
The experienced and mindful designer will consider the most extreme operating conditions and design all machine components appropriately to reduce the possibility of premature equipment failure. A frequent culprit of machine failure is the unexpected presence of process debris on critical machine components. Selecting a guided motion technology that can tolerate debris, without frequent maintenance, will extend the service life of machinery in challenging environments.
Watch this webinar to learn:
- How to design debris tolerant guided motion into challenging operating environments.
- About DualVee Motion Technology and component based linear guide wheels for industrial equipment and automation.
- About guide wheel types designed for ALL environments from freezer to oven, washdown to vacuum, cleanroom to high debris.
