BASE jumpers Chris Douggs McDougall and Jimmy Pouchert took flight using a human catapult in the United Arab Emirates, flinging themselves 300 feet into the sky.
The enormous catapult setup included a thin platform rigged on two cranes. In this video spotted via Gizmodo, you can see that the jumper started from a laying down position, but didn’t stay that way for long: they were propelled from zero to 200 kph (125 mph) in just one second.
Along the way, they experienced over 6Gs. Both men successfully deployed their parachutes for the dizzying flight back down.
The catapult was sponsored by Go Fast Energy and Skydive Dubai.
