In its around-the-world tour encompassing more than 18,000 miles in the last six months, the igus’ “iglide on tour” car will make a stop at WTWH Media’s Cleveland office, showcasing how the company’s plastic bearings have withstood the miles driven better than their metal counterparts. This will be one of the last chances to see the car in North America, as it will return to Europe in October and finally to Germany in 2015, where the iglide bearings will be removed and observed, truly testing their wear-resistance.
To celebrate 30 years of its line of iglide self-lubricating plastic bearings, igus has been traveling around the world with its orange iglide car, retrofit with 56 of igus’ plastic bearings in applications including the throttle valve, windshield wipers, alternator, and more. The iglide car, staffed with a team of igus representatives, has been traveling across the United States and Canada, visiting customers and key business partners.
The igus car team will arrive at WTWH’s headquarters at 6555 Carnegie Ave., Cleveland, OH, on Friday, September 19 at 1 p.m., where attendees will have an opportunity to ride/drive the car and check out how the car is holding up. WTWH Media will also provide the igus team with lunch from a local food truck.
WTWH Media has been a long-term partner with igus, which was one of the publishing company’s first customers.
