A San Francisco slot car race comes to Austin
Another NIWeek display created by the automation firm Sisu Devices LLC was a slot car track that included several landmarks from the San Francisco Bay area. Sisu used that locale because the track was originally created for networking hardware supplier Cisco Systems Inc. to demonstrate Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) with sensors, motion control, and vision systems. Slot cars race across the Golden Gate Bridge, zoom past the Transamerica Pyramid, and speed around the Bay overlooking Alcatraz Island. National Instruments had its own TSN announcement at NIWeek: New 4- and 8-slot Ethernet chassis that deliver TSN over Ethernet to the CompactDAQ platform for distributed measurement and test systems.
