Impact of Industry 4.0: Keynote to open Fastener Fair USA

By Michelle Froese | April 14, 2020

Industrial distributors in many sectors are facing a reckoning as OEM customers automated the manufacturing operations. Parts suppliers in many sectors are heeding client demands for seamless connection to order and inventory management systems, quality documentation and chain of custody tracking, as well increased precision in parts counts and packaging.

Yannick Schilly, CEO of Altix

This change, brought about by the adoption of Industry 4.0 – shorthand for a business whose manufacturing operation is electronically linked from order entry through production and fulfillment – is especially prevalent among global manufacturers.

How do suppliers of fasteners, fixers and related components respond? Yannick Schilly, CEO of Altix, will provide direction and guidance during his July 14 Keynote Address at Fastener Fair USA, at the Charlotte Convention Center. Fastener Fair USA runs July 13-15 at the Charlotte Convention Center.

Altix, based in Mason, OH, advises mid-market managers on business strategy, technology and innovation, and operational excellence support, in the world of advanced manufacturing and international supply chain.

For the past 25 years, Schilly has successfully developed and executed complex global expansion strategies throughout Germany, China and the U.S. for a German based global Mittelstand company renowned for its advanced manufacturing operations. He possesses a profound and unique knowledge of global and international business, industrial best practices and excellence in advanced manufacturing, industrial engineering, logistics and multi-national supply chain management.

Prior to joining Altix, Schilly established and managed regional production and logistic centers in China and North America for a leading German based, international industrial technology company.

Schilly’s unique expertise includes all aspects of global and international business, market entry, industrial best practices and excellence in advanced manufacturing, industrial engineering, logistics and multi-national supply chain management.

A French native, who was immersed in the corporate and industrial arenas in Europe, Asia and the North-America, Schilly has built a vast business network spanning three continents and possesses a unique understanding of various business cultures. He speaks four languages and enjoys traveling with his family to discover new places, cultures and culinary experiences around the world.

Truly passionate about European-American affairs, Schilly currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors for the European – American Chamber of Commerce in Cincinnati.

Schilly holds a BS in Industrial Engineering and an MBA in General Management and Global Business from the University of Applied Sciences Hamburg, Germany.

Registration is now open for the 2020 edition of Fastener Fair USA at www.fastenerfairusa.com. Fastener Fair USA runs July 13-15, 2020 at the Charlotte Convention Center in Charlotte, NC.
