Inductive Sensors from Eaton

By Design World Staff | March 11, 2008

PITTSBURGH … Eaton Corporation announces two new styles of inductive sensors: E52Q Cube and E56 Pancake. These new sensors come in industry-standard sizes, feature extended sensing ranges and offer unique convenience features that simplify installation and maintenance.

E56 Pancake

A key feature of both the cube and pancake products is the “auto-configure” output technology found on the DC voltage models. This feature, first introduced in the proven iProx® tubular sensor, auto-detects if the sensor has been wired for NPN (sinking) or PNP (sourcing) and switches the sensor to that mode without user intervention. This feature, combined with complementary outputs (1NO/1NC) found on both products, means users can replace four different sensor models with just one. These key features allow distributors and OEMs to reduce their inventory, while being able to solve a wider array of challenging sensor applications.

Additional features of the E52Q Cube and E56 Pancake include:
·Sensing ranges up to 100mm for pancake and 40mm for cube
·Heavy-duty construction and temperature ratings down to —40° C to handle the harshest
    sensing environments
    · Bright power and output status LEDs
    · Micro- or mini-connector options
    · Competitive pricing targeted at OEM customers

Eaton’s Cutler-Hammer® brand E52Q Cube and E56 Pancake are now available through the worldwide Eaton distribution channel or by contacting your local Eaton sales office. For more information, call 1-800-525-2000 or visit www.Eaton.com/sensors .
