STMicroelectronics’ Innovation Night recognizes successful cooperation with IS2T
After the recent launch of SMT32Java and its rapid adoption by key customers, Carlo Bozotti, CEO and President of STMicroelectronics, presented an award to IS2T at the Innovation Night held on the 3rd of June in Paris, in recognition of the successful cooperation between the two companies.
Based on IS2T’s embedded applications solution, STM32Java enhances the added-value of STM32 microcontrollers, providing customers with advanced capabilities of embedded software design. When specifying and designing products such as home appliances, medical devices, industrial automation, and smart energy managers, Marketers and R&D Engineers encounter recurring issues during product lifecycles. IS2T provides Marketers with a unique solution that answers their specific needs: broaden product portfolio, reduce specification phases, boost early-stage sales and improve enduser experience. These innovative tools enable new capabilities such as simulation and prototyping, as well as product customization after deployment in the field.
Despite the increasing complexity of embedded software, R&D engineers are now able to manage their development schedule, improve product quality and access advanced engineering capabilities on cost-effective devices such as microcontrollers, all thanks to SMT32Java.
The home automation and smart energy management markets illustrate these new possibilities. Engineers can design cost-effective and user-friendly graphical interfaces (GUI) with low-cost microcontrollers instead of using expensive PC-like systems. This embedded design can easily be adapted, customized or fully changed to answer new market demands. Once ready, the software application can also be deployed on smartphones or tablets without any modification to extend product portfolios within a few weeks.
The STM32Java product line offers embedded application platforms and dedicated solutions for Graphical User Interfaces and Internet-of-Things-oriented products. These embedded platforms are available for a wide range of SMT32J microcontrollers and give the capability to write software applications once and run these applications on any hardware platform without software change.
These capabilities drastically change embedded design approaches. Companies are now able to embrace the latest semiconductor innovations without impacting software development costs or time to market.
