JENN-AIR’s Dual Convection Smart Oven

JENN-AIR is releasing a dual convection oven which can be completely operated via a mobile app.

The wall oven is slated to be released in September and will feature total compatibility with IOS and Android devices. With the app, the machine’s operator can quickly control traditional oven functions as well as newer innovations that JENN-Air has developed.

The app operator will be able to access the Jenn-Air Culinary Center feature, an image driven system that gives the user complete control of the oven using a series of algorithms. The center can guide the user through the cooking of over 30 meals, as it takes into account factors such as the type of food, desired doneness, and type of cookware the food is held in. Users will be able to gauge the meals doneness using a variety of images which convey how far along the meal is and where a temperature probe should be inserted.

The app will also take advantage of the company’s “My Creations” feature, which will allow users to save recipes and use up to three different cooking modes at the same time.

“Enabling users to keep any eye on what’s happening in the kitchen while entertaining in the living room is just a tiny part of what the oven and app can do,” said Brian Maynard, Jenn-Air marketing director.  “We’ve also incorporated diagnostics and a range of other highly intuitive functions that will encourage users to explore and control the oven’s advanced features and performance right at the touch of their fingertips.”

The oven will include Jenn-Air’s V2TM Dual-Fan Convection System, which moves air in opposite directions using two fan-equipped convention elements with 6,800 watts of power.

Another feature will allow the oven to translate conventional cooking times to convention times.

The oven will sport a 7-inch, full-color, touch-sensitive LCD display as well as a under glass, touchscreen which will allow the user to scroll until they reach the desired oven temperature.

New to a Jenn-Air oven, the product will featurea front mounted oven light and larger window, allowing the user to get a better look at what’s cooking.

To make it easier to place and take out items, the oven will boast soft-close doors and an improved extension glide rack.
