MUSKEGON, MI – GE Energy has honored Kaydon Corporation Bearings Division with one of its Supplier Excellence Awards, which recognize excellence in compliance, quality, lean, direct material productivity, growth, and customer centricity. Kaydon received GE’s Excellence in Growth award, which is given to the supplier with the largest year-over-year growth.

GE Energy has been presenting its Supplier Excellence Awards for more than 10 years. This year’s winners were chosen from a field of 60 U.S. and European contenders, nominated by GE global commodity leaders and supplier quality leaders. GE Energy’s senior sourcing leadership team reviewed the applications, which were put through a rigorous selection process. The final decisions were based on actual quantitative metrics and subjective opinion tied to historical commercial relations.

Additionally, Kaydon will have a mural donated on its behalf by GE to the C.S. Mott’s Children’s Hospital in Ann Arbor, MI. The mural will be painted by Foundation for Hospital Art volunteers, a non-profit organization founded in 1984. Since then, some 500,000 volunteers and patients have painted more than 30,000 paintings in more than 2,000 hospitals in 190 countries.

C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital, named in honor of one of its founding benefactors, Flint (Michigan) automotive pioneer Charles Stewart Mott, is one of America’s leading children’s hospitals, attracting young patients from around the nation and the world. A part of the University of Michigan, its faculty-physicians and post-doctoral fellows are leaders in pediatric treatment and research across a wide range of specialty areas including childhood cancers, cardiac surgery, esophageal repair, adolescent depression, and public policy.
