KOHLER Hybrid Energy System Powered by Tadiran

Kohler Co. recently announced the introduction of the KOHLER Hybrid energy system, the world’s first no-maintenance, water-saving solution that has been tested to last a minimum of 30 years. “The new KOHLER Hybrid energy system will undoubtedly change the conversation about water conservation. The combination of a water-saving faucet that’s guaranteed to last 30 years underscores Kohler’s commitment to green building,” said Rick Reles, vice president of marketing at Kohler Co. “This product brings together the innovative KOHLER Insight Touchless Technology with a hybrid energy system that delivers uncompromised performance in any commercial setting.”.

Upon initial installation, KOHLER Insight Technology analyzes and logs feedback from its environment and recalibrates the factory default settings to accommodate its new home. If the bathroom space has low lighting, or highly reflective lighting, the sensor automatically adjusts to eliminate false actuations. This proven sensor technology does not require maintenance in the event that it is used infrequently, or if the lighting is less than adequate – two common challenges that plague other long-lasting power solutions.

The new Hybrid energy system features a Tadiran long-life power system equipped with a patented hybrid layer capacitor that collects small electrical charges, which are discharged every time the faucet is activated, allowing the cell to maintain its superior power storage. The use of energy-saving Insight Technology enables the hybrid energy system to operate continuously for 30 years without battery replacement.

A 30-year operating-life is just the beginning of this system’s environmental advantage. The hybrid power solution is also completely mercury-free, and contains no other chemicals or additives that are harmful to humans or the environment.

Tadiran’s hybrid power technology utilized the Hybrid energy system has been proven to deliver long-term reliability for a wide variety of commercial applications such as hands-free meter reading, GPS vehicle tracking systems, airbag deployment components and emergency call systems. These applications require a reliable power management solution– the same level of proven reliability that facility managers and end-users demand of their bathroom faucets.

According to Sol Jacobs, Vice President and General Manager at Tadiran, “We are proud that after extensive testing an industry-leader like KOHLER chose Tadiran batteries for use in its commercial product. This is additional proof of the high quality of Tadiran products.”
