Lambda PCB-Mount AC-DC Power Supplies

By Design World Staff | March 2, 2007

Lambda introduces a series of single-output 5- to 15-watt AC-DC power supplies designed for direct mounting on a printed circuit board (PCB).  Small and lightweight, the new KPS series supplies are ideal for use in a wide variety of applications, such as process control, test-and-measurement, and portable equipment.

Units come in three different power levels and in package sizes ranging from 1.38 x 2.17 x 0.79 in. (5 W models) to 1.89 x 2.75 x 0.91 in. (15 W models).  They also come in all commonly-used output voltages from 3.3 to 24 V, with typical efficiency of 82% for the 24-V units.

All configurations accept a broad range of input voltages, 90 to 264 Vac, 47 to 440 Hz or 110 to 370 Vdc, and because the supplies are Class II devices, they require no ground connection.  The units are rated for operation in a convection-cooled environment from 0º C to 70º C, derating linearly to 25% load from 40º C to 70º C.

Lambda’s KPS supplies meet EN61000-4-X immunity and Class B EMI standards.  They are also safety-approved to UL60950-1, CSA60950-1 and EN60950-1 specifications; CE marked; and RoHS compliant.
