Plastic drag chains can replace steel in most offshore applications, including BOP transfer carts and cranes, pipe-handling systems, iron roughnecks, load arms, and gantry systems. The igus’ line of Energy Chain drag chains are corrosion-resistant and unaffected by UV-rays, dirt, chemicals, extreme temperatures, or seawater.
The E4-350 was primarily developed for applications exposed to oil and drilling mud on offshore oil-drilling platforms. This chain can move nearly 50 feet up and down, which guarantees any heavy hydraulic cables are protected and guided when a drilling rig is skidded onto an oil platform, or during a drilling head’s stroke.
System E4/4 is an alternative to festoon and cable-reel systems used on cranes. These drag chains can travel up to 2,600 feet even with heavy loads and prevent external forces from causing cables to whip, swing or tangle.
Chainflex continuous flex data cables conform to UL, CSA, CE, and DESINA guidelines. They can be used in applications involving high speeds and accelerations.
