Sensor Developments’ Model 20009 tire durability force sensor is used to evaluate the durability of passenger tires. It features an element design that is able to withstand very high extraneous loads experienced during aggressive vehicle maneuvers, while not affecting the desired tire performance measurement.
These types of sensors are used on tire durability test machines and can feature a various mechanical attachment features to adapt to each machine. Multiple axes can be measured in addition to the lateral force, including steering torque and rolling resistance.
