Harwin: Driving Next Generation Electronic Designs

There are a number of key ways in which Harwin has been able to position itself as a major force in the creation and supply of cutting-edge components. Firstly, the company regularly adds to its breadth of products, and looks at new ways to tackle the ambitious design goals set by a diverse range of applications – such as motorsport, satellite systems, aerospace, industrial drives, factory automation equipment, robotics, etc. The rapid pace at which new product introductions happen stems directly from the heavy investment made in research and development.

In addition, the company is continually upgrading its manufacturing equipment to maximize production efficiency and ensure heightened operational reliability.

Another critical aspect of Harwin’s ongoing success is the unquestionable quality of its staff. The company has always appreciated the value in nurturing emerging generations of engineers, in order to help it stand out in an increasingly competitive landscape. It boasts a highly effective apprenticeship program, through which recruits have the opportunity to grow – benefiting from valuable hands-on experience, as well as gaining project management skills. It has also established a gateway academy, to provide school graduates with an internationally-respected qualification.

Through major investment, Harwin’s New Hampshire facility now offers customers a high quality cable assembly service. Low minimum order quantities mean the service is ideal for small volume runs and prototyping, but applies equally well to large scale production too.

For seven decades, Harwin has built up a global reputation for its trusted engineering – developing innovative connectors and board level hardware to address exacting technological challenges. At the forefront of the company’s product portfolio are its high reliability connectors. The robust Datamate and Mix-Tek offerings are optimized for deployment in uncompromising environments. Through advanced materials and proprietary design concepts, the Gecko and M300 families reach elevated performance benchmarks while also being incredibly compact – enabling use in situations with limited board space.
