The current demand for robots that can replace repetitive tasks is increasing. As a result, there has been more interest in designing robots to do this work while incorporating requirements to make robots smaller. The AZ Series family of products from Oriental Motor is a compact Hybrid Control System with a built-in mechanical sensor that allows for the configuration of a battery-free absolute system. The newly released Compact Driver, with a weight of just 39 g (1.4 oz.) works with a variety of AlphaStep AZ Series, DC input absolute stepper motors and actuators. This driver can be controlled using RS-485 communication and daisy chained to maximize design, space and improve installation time. The Compact Driver is also designed to be close to the motor, making it ideal for robotic application.
