SERAPID’s core technology is the Rigid Chain, the chain that can push. It consists of interlocking links that behave like a chain yet lock like a rigid bar, providing a safe, reliable and compact telescopic actuation mechanism with unequalled performance even in harsh environments.
The completely electro-mechanical Rigid Chain is a genuine alternative to hydraulic solutions; with no need for fluids, SERAPID products have a reduced environmental impact and minimal maintenance costs. The robust design of the chain makes for
outstanding reliability, high cycle use and high load capacity.
SERAPID chain is telescopic, capable of delivering long strokes and then retracting into a compact magazine. The links allow
for incremental positioning and will hold its position indefinitely, even under load. Our lift products have been tested to maintain low deflection even in demanding weather conditions, and are resistant to seismic forces.
SERAPID products and systems are used in diverse sectors – In industrial applications: manufacturing facilities, thermal treatment furnaces, die change and die handling, tube and pipe processing, pallet pushing systems and nuclear waste transfer.
In the medical sector: The unique RigiBelt, a plastic, non-magnetic version of the Rigid Chain is used in MRIs. In construction: architects and engineers use rigid chain to move structural elements (walls, roofs, stands, etc.), elevators, service and vehicle lifts.
