Leine & Linde Wins the Red Dot Design Award 2012

By Patrick Curran | July 13, 2012

Over the past year Leine & Linde has, together with Avalon Innovation, been running a design project intended to create uniformity and clarity in its product range. The inductive 600 series is among the first products to implement the new design and it is for this particular series we have now won this fine award.

On a market where product design, from an esthetical viewpoint, has been more or less neglected, each characteristic of these encoders has been both ergonomically designed and made esthetically appealing. The result is a presentable product where the exterior strongly radiates the interior’s world class quality and dramatically strengthens the brand identity, which is an issue on a market with numerous similar products. The blue color, the clearly visible logotype and the simple geometric forms also mark the relationship with other parts of the product family. An intelligent overlay offers interaction by light and buttons, an entirely new feature for this industry.

Red-Dot-Award-2012-600-Inductive

Red Dot Design Award is an international design prize which is awarded annually by Design Zentrum Nordreihn Westfalen in Germany. Leine & Linde, together with Avalon Innovation, wins Red Dot Design Award 2012 in the class Product Design, in the category Industry and Craft.
