LINEARSTEP series stepper motor for direct linear motions

By Stacy Combest | August 20, 2012

Nippon Pulse’s LINEARSTEP series, which are permanent magnet type stepper motors that allow linear motions even without using any mechanical transformers.

The linear stepper series offers a simple motion at a lower price than that of traditional linear motion systems and conventional rotary stepper motors.

The product has various customizable options including bipolar or unipolar windings, screw lengths, screw pitches and numerous operating voltages.

The series also features a strong motor case and ball bearing support that effectively provide users with longer operating life and durability. It is also equipped with an optimized Neodymium rotor magnet that allows it to deliver a driving force of up to 39.5N at 200pps.

Other features of LINEARSTEP series include bipolar or unipolar windings with a variety of useable voltages, coil ratings of 5V AND 12V and step angles of 7.5° and 15°. Offered in 25 mm and 35 mm diameters, the product can be ordered with one of the three thread pitches mounted on the lead screw.

The stepper motors can perform 24 or 48 steps per revolution and can travel between 0.01 mm and 0.05 mm per step. Its forces are between 8N and 39.5N (at 200pps) while rated current are between 0.10A/F and 0.42A/F.

Nippon Pulse’s LINEARSTEP stepper motors can be used in various applications such as in data storage recorders, medical device welding, industrial laser welding and printing equipment. It can also be used in microtiting tables, liquid dispensing devices, XY stages and medical pumps as well as in control valves, semiconductor wafer handling machines and analysis machines.
