Minneapolis, MN‚—Microprecision Electronics announces the MP300 switch series with an attached floater actuator for easy, cost-effective liquid detection in industrial refrigeration and other process control applications. By adding a floating polypropylene ball mounted on a stainless steel level actuator to a switch from the company‚’s successful V3 size MP300 switch series Microprecision has designed a simple solution that accurately determines when a specified liquid level is reached. Once the switch is activated, the MP300 switch series can trigger a signal as an input for a PLC or directly switch power of up to 6 A.
The floating polypropylene ball has a 2-inch diameter, a working temperature of up to 210‚°F‚—withstanding up to 250‚°F for short periods of time‚—and exceptional chemical resistance that makes it well suited for use in a wide variety of liquids, from oil to coolant. MP300 series switches are mounted outside the liquid contents but feature a sealed, IP67 design to resist challenging plant conditions, and they can be wired as a changeover switch or with a simple NO or NC circuit.
The MP300 switch series can operate in temperatures up to 400‚°F under EN61058 or 200‚°F under UL 1054, depending on whether a PTFE, PUR, SI or PVC cable is used, and has a power rating of 250 VAC / 6A under EN61058 and UL 1054. Plus, the floating ball and level actuator can be customized to meet specific customer-defined sizes and lengths.
